Charter Services, Buses and Taxis
Grand Canyon National Park has a good shuttle system once you arrive, but transportation from gateway cities to the canyon are limited. It is also difficult to get to many Grand Canyon locations without your own vehicle, even If you make it to the park. Any major city like Las Vegas, Phoenix or Flagstaff has both airports and numerous options to rent a car. For most people spending their vacation time at the Grand Canyon a rental car is the way to go, but there’s definitely other means of transportation to the world’s grandest canyon.
Taxi services are expensive, but with the advent of Lyft and Uber, as well as traditional taxi companies this is an option. There is also a 24-hour taxi service for the South Rim and Tusayan. Charter services especially for families and larger parties can be a great option to a bring your whole group in a private van or coach to the canyon. There are also tours with pick-ups from most nearby cities, so if you’re just heading to the canyon for a guided trip this can be a great option, especially for travelers without a car. There are not buses that go to the park, but Grey Hound does have service to Flagstaff and Williams AZ, both of which are close to Grand Canyon National Park. Read the guide below to learn more.
