Tour Highlights
- Land in the City of Lights to kick off your trip in one of the most unique destinations in the Southwest. Enjoy this oasis in the desert with world class dining, shopping, gaming, and shows, just steps away from your Las Vegas Strip casino resort accomodations.
- Enjoy a guided day trip into Red Rock Canyon, right outside of the city. Your tour guide will teach you about the area as you explore the length of the scenic drive and hike into the depths of this red rock wonderland.
- Explore the red rocks, petroglyphs, petrified trees, and trails of Valley of Fire State Park on your way to charming Kanab, UT. You’ll stay in a boutique hotel that offers comfort and access to all the area’s highlights.
- Leave the driving to your guide as you set out on a full day adventure to see the best of Zion National Park. You’ll get photo ops at scenic overlooks along the way and then have the option hike on iconic park trails like trekking through the waters of the Narrows or hiking to beautiful Emerald Pools.
- Get off the beaten path and into the wild red rock country of Vermillion Cliffs. Your guided ATV tour will take you through some of the area’s unique “swirling” sandstone features where you can explore more in depth on foot.
- Set out on a scenic drive to Page, AZ with optional stops at famous area highlights at Jacob Lake (the cookies and milkshakes are a must!), the California Condor release area, Lees Ferry (the only place you can touch the Colorado River), and Navajo Bridge. Stop for a must have photo op at Horsehoe Bend overlook and relax on the shores of Lake Powell before settling into your hotel.
- Prepare to see iconic views on your Navajo guided tour to Antelope Canyon and Monument Valley. The narrow slot canyon offers incredible photos as you weave through the narrow pathways with light dancing in from above. You’ll enjoy every minute of your tour through the iconic rock formations of Monument Valley, first made famous in countless Westerns before they became a social media must-see.
- Drive through the Painted Desert on your way to Grand Canyon’s South Rim. Stop at a historic native trading post to purchase incredible indigenous jewelry or art before stopping at Desert View Watchtower inside in the park. Climb to the top for an unforgettable view of the canyon and Colorado River before settling into your in-park lodging with easy access to overlooks, trails, restaurants, and shops.
- Mules are the most famous transportation at Grand Canyon and your trip includes a rim-side guided mule trip with scenic views and great information about the canyon’s incredible geology, wildlife, and indigenous people.
- Head back in time as you head back to Vegas with a trip down historic Route 66. Stop in quirky Williams, AZ where the Route’s history lives on, and enjoy other stops at kitschy restaurants and shops until you arrive at Hoover Dam. Tour into the depths of the impressive man-made structure before departing from the Las Vegas Airport.
Tour Itinerary Details
Day 1: Las Vegas Nevada
Touch down in unforgettable Las Vegas, NV to kick off your Southwest adventure. Truly an oasis in the desert, you will be able to enjoy the best of Vegas right from the door of your casino resort accommodations in the heart of the Strip. Watch the dancing waters of the Bellagio fountains, enjoy fine dining or just grab something to go, explore the countless shops, try your luck at gaming, or watch a show featuring everything from music to acrobatics to magic. Once the sun goes down and the lights come on, sit back and relax on the High Roller for the best view in town.
Day 2: Red Rock Canyon
Enjoy the convenience of hotel pick up for a guided day tour as you depart the bustling city for the sweeping desert landscapes of Red Rock Canyon, just outside Las Vegas. Your guide will take you in comfort to the park’s most iconic destinations including pictographs, desert springs, fossils, and Calico Hills. You’ll have the chance to explore the park visitor center and learn what makes this area so special including its stunning geology, enduring indigenous people, and unique wildlife. Short hikes let you get out and explore along the way before you head back to your resort casino for one more night of Las Vegas fun.
Day 3: Las Vegas - Valley of Fire – Kanab Utah
Depart your casino resort for a hiking destination that offers trails galore in Valley of Fire State Park. Set out on foot to see pictographs, petrified trees, and the unique swirling red rocks that make this park famous. Next you will enjoy an easy drive to the charming town of Kanab, UT which serves as a convenient homebase to explore the area’s highlights. You’ll have time to relax in your boutique hotel and dine at some of the town’s highly rated eateries.
Day 4: Zion National Park
Today takes you into one of the most beloved national parks in the US, Zion National Park. This guided adventure is ideal as it lets you sit back and take in the epic views along the way. You’ll have numerous photo ops during the drive before you arrive in Zion Canyon where hiking is the best way to explore this scenic and soaring canyon. Explore easy trails to park highlights such as Weeping Rock and Emerald Pools or really push yourself for an unforgettable adventure by hiking through the cool waters of the Zion Narrows slot canyon or sitting at the edge of Angels Landing after an adrenaline pumping hike. You’ll also enjoy lunch in the park and be able to take advantage of your guide’s in-depth knowledge of the area to learn more. Head back for another relaxing night in Kanab.
Day 5: Vermilion Cliffs UTV Tour
4x4 UTVs are the best way to really explore the depths of the Vermillion Cliffs’ scenic and swirling red rock formations. This fully guided day-long tour is designed to make the most of every moment as you zoom through the heart of White Pocket, where few people get to go. Your guide will stop at area highlights along the way, so you have plenty of time to hike, take photos, and explore the red, orange, and white wonderland of Vermillion Cliffs. Return to your boutique hotel in Kanab for one more night.
Day 6: Kanab to Lake Powell
The drive from Kanab, UT to Page, AZ is full of epic views and iconic stops along the way. Grab a good breakfast in Kanab before deciding your route to Page. Grand Canyon Guru recommends the scenic route that takes you into the high elevation forests of Jacob Lake, AZ. Here you will find a charming Inn that is famous for their cookies and milkshakes – make sure to buy extra cookies for the road! From there you will have the opportunity to make short stops at Lees Ferry, Navajo Bridge, and the Vermillion Cliffs California condor release site. You can also opt to stop at any of the many beloved mom-and-pop eateries in Marble Canyon for a cold drink along the way. As you finally head into Page, stop to see the world-famous Horseshoe Bend overlook which is only minutes away from your hotel.
Day 7: Antelope Canyon and Monument Valley
This adventure takes you to some of the most well-known locations in the Southwest and your guided tour gives you plenty of time to explore and take photos. Enjoy an easy departure from Page and arrive at Antelope Canyon for an early morning tour through the twisting slot canyon. You’ll have the opportunity to capture the iconic rays of light filtering through the red rocks and explore the depths of the canyon before departing to Monument Valley. Every minute of the drive is scenic, and you’ll stop for photo ops at the Forrest Gump Highway and then leave the highway behind for a more behind the scenes tour of Monument Valley’s famous red rock formations. You’ll return to Page for the evening where you can opt to explore the cool waters of Lake Powell, dine in one of many great restaurants, or simply relax in your comfortable hotel.
Day 8: Lake Powell to Grand Canyon South Rim
Head out of Page for a beautiful road trip through the Painted Desert. You’ll see not only the famous southwestern red rocks, but also layers of colorful rocks that give this unique desert its name. Stop in at the historic Cameron Trading Post where you’ll not only find exquisite jewelry, pottery, rugs, and more made by indigenous artists, but also a café that sells their famous Navajo Taco, a piece of fry bread with taco toppings on top. You’ll then head into Grand Canyon National Park’s South Rim via the Desert View entrance. Stop at the famous Desert View Watchtower which offers incredible photo ops both inside and out. You’ll be able to stop at numerous canyon overlooks as you drive the 23 miles of Desert View Drive into Grand Canyon Village. Check into your conveniently located hotel inside the national park, and then head out again for some scenic hiking, shopping, or dining in Grand Canyon Village.
Day 9: Grand Canyon Mule Ride
Enjoy a tasty brunch at famous El Tovar Hotel before hitting the trail for today’s adventure. You’ll begin by meeting one of Grand Canyon’s most beloved residents, its mules. Gear up and get comfy on your mule so you can sit back and enjoy the canyon vistas and endless photo ops along your journey. Your guide will expertly take you right along the canyon rim, so you won’t miss a moment of the views and will teach you about how the canyon formed, its indigenous people, and its unique wildlife. Return to the mule barn, give your mule one last pat, and then head wherever you would like on the South Rim to wrap up your day. Opt into a canyon hike, a decadent meal, or an unforgettable sunset along Hermit Road for an evening to remember.
Day 10: Route 66 to Las Vegas
Today offers you a chance to travel like they used to, down historic Route 66. You’ll head out of the national park and arrive in Williams, AZ, a funky town that makes the most of its Route 66 heritage. This is a great place for grabbing something to eat or strolling through the eclectic shops. You’ll then head west and connect back onto historic Route 66 which offers a quieter way to travel. You’ll pass through small towns with cute attractions, refreshing ice cream, and quirky souvenir shopping. Before you get to Las Vegas you’ll stop at the Hoover Dam where you can opt to walk across the top of the impressively high dam or take a guided tour to see the complex workings inside. Once you get to Vegas, you’ll depart from the Las Vegas Airport and take off right over the Strip.
