Tour Itinerary Details

Day 1: Phoenix to Sedona

You’ll know your adventure is beginning the moment you step outside of the Phoenix, AZ airport and feel that unforgettable dry desert heat. A road trip across Arizona will let you see some of the state’s best highlights, starting with the iconic saguaros of the Sonoran Desert, transitioning into pinion-juniper forests, and finally ending in the famous red rocks of charming Sedona, AZ. Your resort hotel accommodations are modern and thoughtful, nestled in the middle of acres of quiet wilderness and soaring cliffs. Arrive in time to visit the Trail House where local guides will get you out on an adventure in no time whether it’s hiking, rock climbing, or mountain biking. End your day with excellent food right on site whether it’s poolside, casual, or fine dining.

Day 2: Sedona Off Road Adventure

Wake up in comfort at your resort and prepare for a fun day of exploring and getting off the main drag. Your guided open-air Jeep tour promises adventure as you 4x4 past some of Sedona’s most famous rock formations and fully understand what makes this area so unique. You’ll still have plenty of time left to explore town where you can indulge in excellent restaurants, browse the unique art galleries and stores, or hike or bike on endless trails. You’ll enjoy one final evening at your resort where a sunset swim, a trip to the spa, or relaxing on your room’s scenic patio will wrap up a satisfying day.

Day 3: Sedona to Grand Canyon South Rim

You’ll say goodbye to Sedona and set off on a northern Arizona road trip. Head uphill through gorgeous Oak Creek Canyon which will twist and turn as you ascend into the ponderosa pine forests above. Make sure to stop in the charming mountain town of Flagstaff, AZ where you can opt to have lunch at one of the many terrific restaurants and breweries in the walkable downtown. Take the scenic route through the San Francisco Peaks where you can enjoy the sweeping views of mountains, pine forests, aspen groves, and maybe even spot an elk if you’re lucky. In Tusayan, AZ, prepare to see Grand Canyon for the first time in the most dramatic way possible. Once on board your helicopter, you will fly over the forest to a breathtaking view of the world’s largest canyon dropping out below you. Finally, you will drive into the national park where you will enjoy iconic national park lodging that is located right on the rim of the canyon with trails, shops, restaurants, and unforgettable Grand Canyon views just steps away in historic Grand Canyon Village.

Day 4: Grand Canyon Mule Ride

Enjoy a tasty brunch at El Tovar hotel before hitting the trail for today’s adventure. You’ll begin by meeting one of Grand Canyon’s most beloved residents, its mules. Gear up and get comfy on your mule so you can sit back and enjoy the canyon vistas and endless photo ops along your journey. Your guide will expertly take you right along the canyon rim, so you won’t miss a moment of the views and will teach you about how the canyon formed, its indigenous people, and its unique wildlife. Return to the mule barn, give your mule one last pat, and then head wherever you would like on the South Rim to wrap up your day. Opt into a canyon hike, a decadent meal with a view, or an unforgettable sunset along Hermit Road for an evening to remember.

Day 5: Grand Canyon South Rim to Lake Powell

Head out to Page, AZ on a beautiful road trip through the east side of Grand Canyon National Park. You’ll be able to view numerous unique canyon overlooks as you drive the 23 miles of Desert View Drive from Grand Canyon Village and then stop at the famous Desert View Watchtower which offers incredible photo ops both inside and out. The next destination beyond the park is a historic native trading post where you’ll not only find exquisite jewelry, pottery, rugs, and more made by indigenous artists, but also a café that sells their famous Navajo Taco, a piece of fry bread with taco toppings on top. Enjoy views of the Painted Desert along the way where you’ll see layers of colorful rocks, everything from white to orange to purple, that give this unique desert its name. Once you arrive in Page, you’ll set out on an unforgettable open-air Navajo guided adventure to a secret part of the photogenic Antelope Canyon slot canyon followed by a stop at the world-famous Horseshoe Bend overlook. Finally head over to your luxury glamping accommodations right next to beautiful Lake Powell. You’ll sleep in incredible comfort in the thoughtfully arranged glamping tents with incredible views of the stars above.

Day 6: Horseshoe Bend Rafting Trip

This half-day adventure will take you right into the heart of scenic Glen Canyon. You’ll be transported in comfort to Lees Ferry where you will meet your guide and board a raft. You’ll motor up the calm waters of the powerful Colorado River to Petroglyph Beach, an excellent place to learn about the indigenous people who still call this area home. You’ll be surrounded by the canyon’s soaring walls as you motor through 10 miles of the river, including through Horseshoe Bend. The motor coach trip back to Page is scenic the entire way, letting you relax in the beauty of the southwest landscapes.

Day 7: Lake Powell to Zion

The drive from Lake Powell to Zion is full of epic views and iconic stops along the way including Lees Ferry, Navajo Bridge, and the Vermillion Cliffs California condor release site. Make sure to stop at the Jacob Lake Inn to try one of their famous milkshakes or cookies, and make sure to buy extra cookies for the road! Kanab, UT is a cute town with great restaurants and is a good lunch spot before you finally get to your resort lodging on the east side of Zion National Park. Get quickly settled because adventure awaits on a guided UTV tour into the backcountry of Zion. Your local guide will teach you along the way about the indigenous people of Zion and about the geologic history that makes this area unlike any other. Your UTV journey ends at the start of a private access slot canyon that you will explore on foot for as far as you like. You’ll climb impressive boulders, squeeze through the slots, and take stunning photos in the canyon. Return to your resort for a relaxing night among Zion’s beautiful forests and red rocks.

Day 8: Zion National Park

There’s nothing like a day spent in Zion National Park and you’ll start your day off entering from the park’s east side. You’ll enjoy epic views, drive through a long rock tunnel, and end at the base of Zion Canyon. The park’s free shuttle buses leave frequently to take park visitors to the most famous stops in the canyon including the Weeping Wall and Emerald Pools. Zion Lodge sits right in the heart of the canyon and is a memorable place to grab lunch with a view. Take the shuttle all the way to the end of the line so you can view, and maybe even hike into, the Zion Narrows. Here, the Virgin River flows through a broad and incredibly beautiful slot canyon and visitors can wade through the waters upstream as far as they like. It’s a great way to cool off before you head back to your car and make your way to your resort for another night of good food and great views.

Day 9: Zion to Las Vegas

Today takes you from the backcountry of Zion to the bustling City of Lights for your flight home. You’ll pass through the national park one last time and enjoy more scenic southwestern landscapes before you arrive at the airport for an easy departure.
