Grand Canyon Bike Rides and Trails

The Grand Canyon offers great options for road bikes and mountain bikes within Grand Canyon National Park, on both the South Rim and North Rim. Kaibab National Forest right outside the park also has some great options, especially for mountain bikes. Although biking below the rim of the Grand Canyon is not permitted, there are plenty of trails, scenic dirt roads through the National Forest and paved roads and trails, especially along the South Rim. Grand Canyon South Rim Bike Rides

The South Rim offer the majority of options for Grand Canyon bike rides. There are paved roads and trails along the South Rim of the Canyon, as well as dirt roads and some options for mountain bikes rides outside the park near Tusayan Arizona.

Greenway Trail Bike Route

The Greenway Trail is a great option for getting around on a bike. Bikes are allowed throughout Grand Canyon village and make for a good mode of transportation.

Hermit Road Bike Route

Hermits Rest Road along the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park is definitely one of the best places to ride a bike at the canyon.

Kaibab National Forest borders much of Grand Canyon National Park and has several trails to ride outside the South Entrance of the Grand Canyon and hundreds of miles of dirt roads.

Grand Canyon North Rim Bike Rides

The North Rim offers numerous options for bike rides and mountain biking. The showcase North Rim bike ride is the Rainbow Rim trail, an awesome single track along the North Rim. There are also several other trails and unlimited dirt forest service roads to ride. The roads to get to this area usually don't open until mid-May and are closed after the first big snow storm, which typically occurs after November.

Although Rainbow Rim is probably the best North Rim bike trail, Kaibab National Forest has several other options for Mountain Bike trails.

North Rim Village Bike Rides

There are no bike rentals available at the North Rim, but if you have a bike with you it can be a great way to get around North Rim Village and ride out the numerous scenic vistas.
