Tour Itinerary Details

Day 1: Phoenix to Grand Canyon South Rim

You’ll know your adventure is beginning the moment you step outside of the Phoenix, AZ airport and feel that unforgettable dry desert heat. A road trip across Arizona will let you see some of the state’s best highlights, starting with the iconic saguaros of the Sonoran Desert, transitioning into high elevation ponderosa pine forests, and finally ending at the edge of Grand Canyon’s popular South Rim. Your hotel is located right at the edge of the canyon with access right outside your door to world famous hiking trails, charming historic Grand Canyon Village, and great food so you can enjoy your evening (and hopefully a stunning sunset!) in one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

Day 2: Hiking into Grand Canyon

Wake up to a day of Grand Canyon adventure. Enjoy a delicious breakfast before hitting the trail to explore inside of the canyon. You will travel down the trail that offers the best vistas along the way as you descend through colorful and ancient rock layers. You can hike as little or as long as your like before climbing back up to the South Rim for more exploring. Whether you choose to relax in your rim-adjacent room, explore the park’s geology museum, or take a shuttle bus to a famous sunset overlook, you will enjoy a rewarding evening after an eventful day.

Day 3: Scenic Flight to Grand Canyon Dude Ranch

You will set off on a plane for the next part of your 8-day adventure. A scenic flight departs from Grand Canyon Airport and takes you to a secluded dude ranch located inside Grand Canyon. You will arrive early enough to opt into adventurous ranch activities including scenic horseback or ATV rides that take you to epic canyon views. You will be regaled with ranch lore, fed authentic cowboy fare, and sleep out under a blanket of stars at the end of the night.

Day 4: Colorado River Whitewater Rafting

It’s time to hit the water! Eat your fill of hearty ranch breakfast before a helicopter whisks you away to the edge of the Colorado River where you will meet your boats and guides. You’ll feel the thrill of rapids, enjoy the serene beauty of the flat water, and set out on side hikes that let you see even more of the canyon. A delicious lunch and dinner are both prepared by the guides and are served beachside, so you don’t miss a moment of the action and views. You’ll wrap up the day with a relaxing campfire and then camp out with the sounds of the river lulling you to sleep.

Day 5: Whitewater Rafting, Jetboat Tour, and Return to Grand Canyon South Rim

There’s nothing like a Colorado River breakfast to start a fun day on the water. After packing up camp you have a few more hours of scenic rafting through the canyon. You will then transfer to a fun jet boat for the final miles of the canyon before ending your adventure at Lake Mead. You’ll be comfortably transferred back to the South Rim where you can relax and enjoy your final night with Grand Canyon views.

Day 6: Grand Canyon South Rim to Sedona

You’ll be glad on your last day that you opted into the convenience of flights into and out of Flagstaff. The small and easy to navigate airport is a relaxing way to depart after 5 full days of exploring the southwest and the best of Grand Canyon.

Day 7: Sedona Off Road Adventure

Wake up in comfort at your resort and prepare for a fun day of exploring and getting off the main drag. Your guided open-air Jeep tour promises adventure as you 4x4 past some of Sedona’s most famous rock formations and fully understand what makes this area so unique. You’ll have plenty of time to explore town where you can indulge in excellent restaurants, browse the unique art galleries and stores, or hike or bike on endless trails. You’ll enjoy one final evening in your resort where a sunset swim or drink will wrap up a satisfying day.

Day 8: Sedona to Phoenix

This final leg of your journey starts in the comfort of your Sedona resort before you head out on a final drive back to Phoenix. You’ll say goodbye to the red rocks but head into the Sonoran Desert which is full of life and iconic saguaro cactus. If you have extra time there are numerous national or state park sites or other Phoenix area destination that you can visit on your way back to Sky Harbor Airport.
